Policy
Weekday classes
are based on six 3-hour sessions that can be taken over a period of no more than six weeks. It can be taken in less than 6 weeks, provided that 6 sessions are completed in that period of time. There is no way of taking less than six sessions, unless it is a drop-in class. Weekday classes are ongoing and can be started anytime with coordination with the instructor.Sunday classes
are based on four 4˝-hour sessions, taken over 4 consecutive weeks. These classes are held on specific dates that are posted on the schedule. They should be paid for in advance.Drop-in classes
should be coordinated with the instructor.Costs:
Weekday class - $120; Sunday class - $140; Drop-in class - $30; The fees are subject to change.Refunds
. Full payment is due at the first session. If you cancel after the first session, this session will be considered as a drop-in class, and you may receive a refund of $90. There will be no refund if more than one class is taken. There is no refund for Sunday class. There is no refund for materials.Make-up classes.
If you happen to miss a session, you can make it up on another day of the week, only if and when classes are offered, in coordination with the instructor and provided that the class that day is not filled up. No make-up class can be taken after the last week of the period you signed up for. However, if you immediately sign up for another series you may “carry” the make-up class to the next series under the same conditions. Also, sessions are non-transferable, i.e., you cannot “give” a session to another person. Make-up classes for missed Sunday classes can only be taken on a weekday.Firing fee.
Any piece you make while taking my classes will be fired for you at the studio for no charge, up to a maximum of 5 pieces each session (i.e., a maximum of 30 pieces for 18 hours of study). Firing without taking classes costs $4 a piece, regardless of where the PMC was purchased.Purchasing additional materials.
Students may purchase additional PMC from the instructor at a price of $36.00 per ounce, including sales tax. If you have a California reseller number and would like to purchase PMC for resale without paying sales tax, you may do so by signing the appropriate reseller certificate, available from the instructor. The cost of materials is subject to change.Projects.
All projects that will be handed out to you are the intellectual property of Textures and are protected by copyright. You may sell pieces that you have made according to the instructions of the project or that were inspired by it, but you may not teach or hand out these projects to other people, whether they are taking my class, took it in the past, or not taking it at all. You may not use these projects for teaching without permission. The number of projects that will be handed out to you during your sign-up period is limited. Students who completed beginners’ class will not receive intermediate or advanced projects without signing up for those classes.Unclaimed pieces.
The instructor is not responsible for pieces, fired or unfired, that were left in the studio for a period exceeding 4 weeks.Use of the studio.
Tools are available for use at the studio for no extra charge. Some tools, gemstones, wire and other findings are available for sale. Since there are only two finishing stations at the studio, students are allowed to use a finishing station for a reasonable amount of time, with consideration for others students’ needs, unless it is clear that no one needs to use it. Extra rotary tools and finishing tools are available at the studio and can be used at the center tables.Students’ show.
There is a separate policy for the students’ show.The instructor reserves the right to refuse any student admission to the studio if he/she is deemed unfit for any reason.
